SIGMA Clermont (SIGMA) is one of the French “Grandes Ecoles” with leading provision of industrially connected research projects in chemistry and mechanical engineering. SIGMA is involved in Sealive through two multidisciplinary research departments: Institut de Chimie de Clermont-Ferrand (ICCF) and Institut Pascal (IP). Both of them are joint CNRS-SIGMA-UCA research units. IP is the coordinator of the French research and innovation project “Laboratoire d’Excellence” IMobS3 of which ICCF is a partner and a member of FACTOLAB, a Joint Research Laboratory with the tyre manufacturer MICHELIN. ICCF is member of two Joint Research Associated Laboratories, one with AREVA and the other one with MICHELIN. ICCF and IP have participated in and led numerous competitive research projects funded by French national bodies (ANR, FUI, PIA) as well as the European Commission and numerous industrial partnerships. The specific involvement of ICCF in Sealive will include researchers and facilities within polymer processing and recycling, polymer synthesis and formulation, rheology, multilayer materials and interfaces, the environmental impact of polymer materials.
