PROJECT NEWS: 7th General Assembly in Deventer
The 7th SEALIVE General Assembly took place last week in Deventer, Netherlands from the 25th-26th of October. The meetings was organised by partners from BIOPACK who have facilities nearby. As we enter the final six months of the project, this was a great opportunity for partners to come together to discuss the latest results and plan the last steps in the project.
The discussions on the first day centred around the project’s eight demonstrators and the progress that has been made during the field trials for SEALIVE’s new biobased solutions. SEALIVE aims to not only formulate new biobased plastics, with advanced properties but also demonstrate their applications in industrial and real environments. The day ended with a working dinner, which provided an opportunity for partners to reconnect in person, share insights and discuss project progress.
On the second day, partners travelled to the BIO4PACK facilities near Deventer to see the thermoforming trials for rigid food trays being developed by SEALIVE. The trays are being produced using materials developed by SEALIVE partners. Following a presentation on the history of the company, partners were given a tour of the facilities and a chance to see the production of these new biobased products in person.
SEALIVE is now entering a busy period, as partners work to finalise solutions ahead of the project end in March 2024. For all of the latest news and updates from the SEALIVE project, keep an eye on our website and social media accounts.
